Great to meet you!

I believe therapy should feel both safe and productive. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I create a space where you feel heard and supported, but we’re also actively working toward meaningful change. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across the full spectrum of behavioral health needs. My experience spans a wide range of concerns including trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, behavioral challenges, relationship difficulties, life transitions, substance use and recovery, family system disruption, and complex mental health presentations. Having worked extensively within state systems, I’ve supported individuals and families navigating everything from acute crises and severe mental health disorders to everyday stress, identity development, and personal growth. I also provide marital and couples therapy, as well as equine-assisted psychotherapy, offering both traditional and experiential approaches to healing. My background allows me to meet clients wherever they are, whether they are managing long-standing patterns or seeking support through a new chapter of life.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also integrating trauma-informed care, attachment-based interventions, play therapy techniques (for children), and practical skill-building strategies. With kids and teens, I balance structure with creativity and connection. With adults, I focus on insight, emotional regulation, accountability, and helping you build sustainable coping tools.

Clients often describe me as steady, straightforward, and deeply compassionate. I’m not a “nod and smile” therapist — I will gently challenge patterns that aren’t serving you while walking alongside you as you build something healthier. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling understood, empowered, and equipped with tools you can actually use in real life. , I aim to provide therapy that is practical, honest, and grounded in growth.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about understanding your story and beginning to build a foundation for meaningful work together. We’ll spend time discussing what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, relevant history, and what you hope to gain from the process. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to get a clear picture of your strengths, stressors, relationships, and patterns — not just symptoms.

This session is also an opportunity for you to determine if I’m the right fit for you. Therapy works best when there is trust and comfort, so I encourage openness and questions. You won’t be pressured to share more than you’re ready for, but we will begin identifying themes and goals so that future sessions feel intentional and productive.

If you’re bringing a child or adolescent, part of the first session may include caregiver involvement to gather background information and align on expectations, while also creating space for your child to feel safe and heard.

By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of how we’ll move forward, what our goals may look like, and what therapy will involve. My aim is for you to leave feeling supported, understood, and confident about next steps.
