Great to meet you!

Individual and Couples therapy:

It can be scary to take the next step and talk to someone about your trauma history, anxiety, stress, loss, or shame.

It is also one of the strongest and most courageous things a person can do.

If you are at a point where you feel ready to talk through the challenges you are facing I am here to walk that path with you.

I earned a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Central Michigan University.

Now, I practice with a wide range of treatment options available to my clients.

We can take a more traditional talk therapy path, use trauma focused treatments (TF-CBT, brainspotting, EMDR), and/or a more cognitive based approach.

My approach to therapy

Individual and Couples therapy:

I view myself as a fellow traveler in the journey we begin together. I am a human like you and don’t view myself as the expert of your life. You are. I am here to help guide you to the trail of healing, but you, you walk it. I help clients see how much power and potential they have to heal. I have specific training and expertise in some areas that will help you along the way, but, at the end of the day, what matters most is having a safe, nonjudgmental, and empowering therapeutic space for healing that comes from developing trust and rapport in the therapeutic relationship. It’s my honor to walk this path with you and witness your story and steps into the future.

What you can expect from me

I find it helpful to have a consultation session to see if we are a good fit. Once we establish this, a first session consists of an intake process so I can learn about you and what's bringing you to therapy.

Then, we begin the healing journey. Sessions we develop rapport, trust, and explore what we can do together to help lessen symptoms.

I often reflect at the end of sessions with clients to help us understand what’s helpful and what we can continue molding to serve best the goals set for treatment. My clients find this helpful because it’s empowering and authentic.

If there is more intense healing in a session through trauma treatment, I always end with a soothing, mindful, and regulating activity that helps clients transition out of the session without feeling overwhelmed or activated by their trauma.
