Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Heather! I have a passion for helping others overcome challenges and achieve personal growth to fulfill their dreams. I received my Bachelors in Social Work from Winona State University in Minnesota and my Master's degree in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago. I have 20+ years of experience as a social worker in schools, working with children with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression and intellectual disabilities and working with adults in long term care facilities.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I encourage my clients to develop coping skills, build resilience, and cultivate self-awareness that bring change to patterns and behaviors in their lives. I understand that each individual is unique and requires personalized care, so I take a holistic and strengths based approach to therapy. I draw from various therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, humanistic, EMDR solution focused brief therapy, mindfulness techniques, as well as integrating neuroscience-based strategies as an Amen University Certified Brain Health Professional to meet the specific needs of my clients

What you can expect from our first session

I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I am an ally to LGBQTIA + community and a strong supporter of social justice reform and equity initiatives. Through empathy and active listening, I strive to build a therapeutic alliance that supports and empowers my clients on their journey towards healing and personal growth.
