Great to meet you!

Great to meet you!

You may be looking for support because you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply tired of carrying everything on your own. Sometimes it can be difficult to know exactly where to begin when stress, relationships, depression, trauma, or changes in mood are all affecting different parts of your life. I work with adults and seniors experiencing anxiety, ADHD/ADD, depression, stress management, relationship issues, women’s issues, and trauma. These concerns can also intersect with family challenges, grief and loss, maternal mental health, or PTSD, particularly when difficult experiences begin affecting how you feel about yourself and the people around you. With more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field, I believe therapy should be a place where you feel heard, understood, and supported rather than judged. You do not have to have everything figured out before we begin. Together, we can better understand what you are experiencing and work toward meaningful changes that feel possible in your life.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both the person you are and the experiences, relationships, responsibilities, and challenges that have shaped you. We’ll explore how your story may be affecting your emotional wellbeing and the way you move through your everyday life. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and develop more helpful ways of responding, Solution Focused Brief Therapy to identify your strengths and turn your goals into practical steps forward, and Motivational Interviewing to explore change at your own pace without pressure. When anxiety or trauma are part of your story, approaches such as EMDR and Somatic processing can help you process difficult experiences while developing greater emotional safety and control. Relational and Experiential approaches can help you better understand patterns in your relationships and create new ways of connecting, while Strength-Based and Positive Psychology approaches help us recognize the strengths, resilience, and sources of meaning you already carry. Our sessions will be collaborative, and individualized, with the goal of helping you understand yourself more deeply while building tools that support meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to know exactly what you need from therapy before we begin. Our first sessions will give us an opportunity to get to know one another, understand what has brought you in, and identify what you would most like to feel different. I will listen with compassion and curiosity while creating a space where you can talk openly about what is happening. Together, we will develop goals that reflect what matters to you and adjust our work as those needs change. Progress may look like feeling more able to manage anxiety and stress, understanding how ADHD affects your daily life, reconnecting with yourself when depression feels heavy, building healthier relationships, finding greater balance in the many roles you carry, or beginning to feel less controlled by past experiences. You deserve support that meets you where you are, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you take that next step.
