Great to meet you!

I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of clinical experience across primary care, psychiatry, and integrated medical settings. This allows me to look at mental health symptoms in the context of physical health, life stressors, trauma history, and daily functioning, not in isolation.

My approach is thoughtful, practical, and collaborative. I take the time to listen carefully, ask the right questions, and explain things in a way that makes sense. Treatment plans are individualized and may include medication management, psychoeducation, supportive therapy, and clear next steps you can actually use in your day-to-day life. I believe in using medication when appropriate, being conservative when possible, and constantly weighing benefits, side effects, and your personal goals.

I work best with clients who want a provider that is calm, direct, and genuinely invested in their progress. Many of my patients come to me feeling overwhelmed, burned out, misunderstood, or frustrated by past care. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and supported while we work together toward improved mood, focus, stability, and quality of life.

Above all, you should know that I take this work seriously. Your time, trust, and mental health matter, and I approach each visit with care, professionalism, and compassion.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, grounded, and personalized.

I start by really listening. I take time to understand what you are experiencing, what has and has not worked in the past, and what you want your life to look like beyond symptom relief. I believe good care comes from clear communication, shared decision-making, and realistic plans that fit your daily life.

I practice evidence-based psychiatry with a whole-person lens. Because I am dual-certified in family medicine and psychiatry, I consider medical conditions, medications, sleep, stress, trauma, and lifestyle factors alongside mental health symptoms. Treatment may include medication management, psychoeducation, and supportive therapy, with a thoughtful and conservative approach to prescribing when appropriate.

I focus on helping clients build insight, stability, and practical coping skills, not just short-term fixes. I am direct but compassionate, structured but flexible, and I prioritize consistency and follow-through. My goal is for you to leave each visit feeling heard, informed, and confident about the next steps.

Care should feel supportive, respectful, and effective. I aim to create a space where you can be honest, ask questions, and make meaningful progress at a pace that feels right for you.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, you can expect a calm, thorough, and supportive experience.

We will spend time discussing what brought you in, your current symptoms, and how they are affecting your day-to-day life. I will ask about your mental health history, medical background, medications, sleep, stressors, and any prior treatment so I can understand the whole picture, not just one moment in time.

The session is not rushed. You will have space to talk openly, ask questions, and clarify concerns. I explain my thought process as we go, so you understand what I am considering and why. If the visit includes a psychiatric evaluation, we will review possible diagnoses and what they mean in practical terms.

By the end of the session, you can expect clear next steps. This may include a treatment plan, medication recommendations if appropriate, lifestyle modifications, and guidance on what to focus on between visits. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, informed, and reassured that a thoughtful plan is in place for the future.
