Great to meet you!

I'm Jaclyn Tropp, LCSW, AADC, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, authenticity, and evidence-based care. I believe therapy should be a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.

I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky and have experience working across community mental health, child welfare, substance use treatment, and residential behavioral health. Throughout my career, I've worked with adolescents and adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, and substance use disorders.

My approach to therapy

My approach is tailored to each client's unique needs and integrates evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

Whether you're seeking support for healing from trauma, managing overwhelming emotions, improving relationships, or building healthier coping skills, my goal is to provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where you can grow with confidence. I believe therapy is not about having all the answers—it's about working together to help you discover your strengths and move toward the life you want to live.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and my goal is to make your first session as comfortable and welcoming as possible. During our initial appointment, we'll spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brought you to therapy. I'll ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, relationships, mental health, medical background, and any previous counseling experiences to gain a comprehensive understanding of your needs.

We'll also complete a diagnostic assessment, which helps identify the symptoms you're experiencing and guides the development of an individualized treatment plan. This is not about placing a label on you—it's about understanding your experiences so we can determine the most effective path forward together.

There is no pressure to share everything at once. You are welcome to move at a pace that feels comfortable, ask questions, and discuss any goals you hope to achieve through therapy. By the end of the session, we'll have a clearer understanding of your concerns, begin identifying treatment goals, and discuss next steps so you leave with a sense of direction and support.
