Great to meet you!

Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) with a background in education, counseling, and athletics. I earned my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New England College and have experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

My background as an educator and coach has shaped the way I approach therapy. I understand that every person brings their own experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals into the therapy room. I strive to create a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable being themselves.

I have experience working with adolescents and families navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, communication difficulties, ADHD, trauma, and challenges within the school environment. I also work with couples who are looking to improve communication, rebuild trust, strengthen their relationship, and shift from a “me versus you” mindset toward a healthier sense of partnership.

As an educator and coach, I have learned the importance of resilience, teamwork, accountability, and celebrating progress. I bring these same principles into therapy while recognizing that meaningful change takes time and looks different for everyone. My goal is to meet clients where they are and help them develop practical tools and greater confidence as they move toward the life and relationships they want.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on helping clients recognize their strengths while developing practical tools for change. I believe therapy should be a space where you can be honest about what you are experiencing without feeling judged or criticized.

I draw from Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered approaches, and Gottman-informed techniques when working with couples. I tailor treatment to each individual, couple, or family rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

With adolescents, I focus on building trust and creating a space where they feel comfortable expressing themselves. I incorporate age-appropriate psychoeducation and practical strategies to help with emotional regulation, decision-making, communication, confidence, relationships, school-related stress, and life transitions.

With couples and families, I focus on improving communication, understanding patterns within relationships, strengthening emotional connection, establishing healthy boundaries, and helping each person feel heard and understood. I often help clients move away from an “I’m against you” dynamic and toward a “we are on the same team” perspective.

My goal is not simply to help clients get through a difficult moment, but to help them develop skills and insight they can continue using beyond therapy.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brought you to therapy. We will talk about your current concerns, your goals, relevant personal and relationship history, and what you would like to get out of the counseling process.

I understand that starting therapy can feel uncomfortable or intimidating, especially if you have never been to therapy before. There is no expectation that you have everything figured out before you walk through the door. You do not need to have the “right” words or know exactly where to begin. We will work together to identify what feels most important to you.

I will also explain my approach to therapy and discuss what you can expect from our work together. Depending on your needs, we may begin identifying patterns, strengths, and practical strategies that can help you begin moving forward.

Most importantly, I want you to leave your first session feeling that you have been heard, understood, and respected. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will work together to create goals and a treatment approach that feels meaningful and realistic for you.
