Great to meet you!

Jacki Veler, MSN, PMHNP, FNP, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 16 years of nursing experience. She earned her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Spring Arbor University in 2021 and her PMHNP Graduate Certificate from the University of Toledo in 2022. At NewHeart Mental Health and Wellness in Oak Harbor, Ohio, she delivers in person and remote outpatient psychiatry and addiction treatment for adults and children across the entire lifespan. She also provides inpatient psychiatric care at a behavioral health hospital.

My approach to therapy

Care centers on deep listening, genuine partnership, and clear communication. Every plan blends evidence-based psychopharmacology with a holistic lens—explaining exactly how medications work in the brain, answering every question, and collaborating on goals that fit the patient’s life. Recognizing that not every solution involves medication, a thorough evaluation always explores potential organic or physiological contributors, incorporating nutrition and lifestyle changes when appropriate. Patients consistently say they finally feel seen: “I felt like I was a person not just a number,” and “she really seems to care about us as people and our goals.” The focus stays on building stability, hope, and an efficient life forward—no rushed visits, no one-size-fits-all solutions.

What you can expect from me

The first session is unhurried and thorough. Expect a full, compassionate conversation where every concern is heard without judgment. Jacki takes time to understand the full picture, explains options clearly, answers all questions, and begins building a personalized plan together. Patients often leave feeling relieved and supported—“I feel like I have someone in my corner,” and “she took time to converse about my needs to make this a better plan for me.” The goal is simple: start the journey toward real stability and lasting results.
