Great to meet you!

Looking for a therapist can feel overwhelming, so I'm glad you're here.

I'm Jackie, a Licensed Master Social Worker, and I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not a performance. My goal is to create a space where you don't have to have all the right words or have everything figured out before you walk in. You get to show up exactly as you are.

I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the general stress that comes with being human. Whether you're facing something that happened years ago or trying to make sense of what's happening right now, we'll work together to understand what's getting in the way and build skills that help you move forward.

I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role isn't to tell you who you should be—it's to help you better understand yourself, navigate what's in front of you, and build a life that feels more like your own. My style is collaborative, down-to-earth, and honest. I'll meet you with curiosity, compassion, and a healthy dose of practicality while creating a space where you feel supported, challenged when you need it, and reminded of strengths you may have forgotten you have.

Starting therapy takes courage, and I don't take that trust lightly. I'd be honored to be part of your journey.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is most effective when it feels like a collaborative process. Every person brings a unique story, strengths, and goals, so I tailor treatment to fit the individual rather than following the same roadmap with everyone.

I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based practices while remaining flexible to what feels most helpful for you. Together, we'll identify what's working well, explore what's getting in the way, and develop practical strategies to help you move toward your goals.

Some sessions may focus on learning new coping skills or problem-solving through a current challenge. Other days may be spent slowing down, processing difficult emotions, or making sense of experiences that continue to affect your life. Most often, they're a combination of both.

I value honesty, curiosity, and authenticity. I may ask questions that encourage you to see things from a different perspective, but I'll also meet you with compassion, respect, and without judgment. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role isn't to tell you who you should be—it's to help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence.

My goal is for therapy to be a place where you feel safe to be yourself, supported through life's challenges, and equipped with practical tools that continue to serve you long after our sessions end.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and it's completely normal if you're feeling nervous or unsure of what to expect.

Our first session is really about getting to know each other. I'll ask questions about what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to gain from the process, and any important parts of your background that will help me better understand your experiences. You don't need to have everything organized or know exactly where to begin—that's my job to help with.

We'll also spend time talking about your goals, answering any questions you have about therapy, and discussing what working together might look like. My hope is that by the end of our first session, you'll leave with a better understanding of the process, a sense of where we'd like to go, and the confidence that you don't have to navigate it alone.

Most importantly, I want you to know there is no expectation to share everything in one session. Therapy is a process, and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable and appropriate for you.
