Great to meet you!

Welcome! I'm Jae Miles, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) in Maryland and Virginia. Whether you're new to therapy or returning after some time away, I'm glad you're here. Seeking support is a meaningful step, and you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, grief, stress, self-esteem challenges, and adjustment to challenges. My goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to move toward the life you want.

My approach to therapy

I view therapy as a collaborative partnership. Rather than telling you what to do, I'll work alongside you to better understand your experiences, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and discover practical strategies that support meaningful change. I believe you're the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide guidance, evidence-based tools, and a supportive space where growth can happen.

I tailor each session to your individual needs because no two people; or their experiences, are the same. Depending on your goals, we'll build coping skills, explore thoughts and behaviors, strengthen relationships, increase emotional awareness, and develop strategies you can apply outside of our sessions.

My work is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy. Together, we'll focus not only on understanding what's difficult today but also on helping you create lasting changes that support the life you want moving forward.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your current concerns, and identify what you hope to gain from our work together. There's no pressure to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin; we'll take it one step at a time.

Together, we'll start identifying your goals, discuss what feels most important to address, and develop a plan that is tailored to your needs. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful, with a clearer understanding of how we can work together toward meaningful change.
