Great to meet you!

Welcome — I’m really glad you’re here. I’m Jalessa Cherry, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist with experience supporting people through anxiety, ADHD, substance use, life transitions, and relationship stress. I’ve worked in crisis care, outpatient therapy, and integrated medical settings, which helps me meet clients wherever they are in their journey. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and respected.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I use evidence-based methods like EMDR, CBT, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based strategies, but I tailor therapy to the person — not a one-size-fits-all model. We focus on understanding patterns, building coping skills, and making meaningful changes that fit your real life. I value honesty, curiosity, and working at a pace that feels manageable. Therapy is a partnership, and your voice guides the work.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about getting to know you and what’s been weighing on you — no pressure and nothing you need to prepare. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your experiences and what you’d like to see change. Together, we’ll identify a few starting goals and discuss clear next steps. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, supported, and confident about how we’ll move forward. We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you.
