Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adolescents and adults. After spending much of my 20s living and working overseas (managing an Eco-Lodge in the Northern Region of Malawi and teaching English in South Korea) I returned home to complete my Master of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, attentional and impulsive/risk-taking behaviors (including symptoms associated with ADHD), depression, and interpersonal conflict.

When able, I enjoy playing basketball, reading (mostly sci-fi!), rock climbing, and listening to far too many podcasts. Currently, I split time between Pennsylvania, Brazil, and North Carolina, along with my wife, young son, and two cats.

My approach to therapy

I bring an integrative approach to therapy, combining aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to find the best way forward for each client. I have experiences working with clients of all ages, across settings (including hospital emergency department, school, group-home, in-home, and group psychotherapy practice).

What you can expect from me

My first priority is in collaborating with my clients to create spaces where change feels possible, and am especially attentive to the ideas of reducing stigma surrounding mental health care, trust associated with strict confidentiality and respect, and increasing motivation using strengths- and evidence-based techniques.
