Great to meet you!

My name is James Murtha, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with teens and adults struggling with performance anxiety and life-changing moments (such as devastating injuries). Receive my education from the University Of Michigan School of Social Work; the top-rated social work school in the country. I had been in practice for nearly 10 years. I specifically focus on integrating cognitive behavior therapy based treatments, helping clients learn how to connect the dots between their actions, feelings, thoughts.

My approach to therapy

I believe in meeting clients where they are, whether that means listening, brainstorming, or exploring questions together. In our early sessions, I focus on getting to know you so I can understand your goals and support you effectively. I combine steady support with clear guidance to help you make real progress.

What you can expect from me

In our first few sessions, you can expect many questions from me about you. I want to get to know you as well as possible to get as full a picture as possible rather than telling you what to do without knowing much about you. You can ask questions about me too; this partnership is a two-way street and I want you to know you can trust me and feel comfortable sharing fears, vulnerabilities, and moments from your life with me.
