Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Jan, and I'm glad you're here. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you've been trying to manage everything on your own. I work with adults and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, women's issues, trauma, and other life challenges. I believe you deserve a space where you can show up as you are, feel heard without judgment, and explore what has been weighing on you. Whether you're working through a difficult experience, feeling overwhelmed by daily responsibilities, or simply hoping to understand yourself better, I'm here to support you. Together, we'll identify what's important to you, recognize your strengths, and work toward meaningful changes that feel right for your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, supportive, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being open and honest while also having practical tools to help you move forward. We'll focus on your main concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress management, women's issues, and trauma, while also making room for other experiences that may be affecting your well-being, such as ADHD, bipolar disorder, panic, PTSD, or chronic health conditions. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another, so you can begin shifting unhelpful patterns and responding to challenges differently. I also draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and healthy communication. These approaches can help you feel more equipped to manage difficult emotions, navigate relationships, and handle stressful situations. We'll work together at a pace that feels comfortable, building on your strengths and identifying strategies that support your goals.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy doesn't mean you need to have everything figured out. Our first session is an opportunity to get to know each other, talk about what brought you here, and explore what you hope to gain from therapy. I'll take time to understand your experiences, concerns, and goals so we can create a plan that feels supportive and realistic. You can expect a welcoming, judgment-free environment where you can speak openly and feel respected. As we work together, we'll identify patterns that may be holding you back, explore new perspectives, and practice practical strategies you can use in everyday life. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and more confident in your ability to navigate life's challenges.
