Great to meet you!

I have provided counseling to individuals and their families facing end-of-life issues, chronic, life-limiting illness, and grief and loss for 10 years. I have experience working with children, teens, adults, and seniors. I also have experience with grief counseling session with small and large family sessions. Grief Support groups and workshops can also be very beneficial in the healing process which I plan to offer in the future.

I approach every client from a learning, person-centered perspective with the client as the teacher. In every session I utilize techniques and interventions tailored to your individual needs. The client-therapist relationship is a partnership were we will work together to build trust, to discover what works best for you, and create a plan biased on your goals as you move through grief and begin healing. Every session I will empower and encourage you as you take brave steps on this journey. Know that in seeking help through therapy you have already taken your first big step!

My approach to therapy

My goal in each therapy session is to create a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment where you feel able to share openly and process what you are experiencing. I will work to validate you every step of the way and support your individual experience of grief while acknowledging that there is no right or wrong way to grieve the loss of a loved one. I will provide active listening, and support sharing, and walk alongside you as you find your path towards healing.

What you can expect from me

At the end of each session you will likely feel tired but also a little bit lighter from being able to openly share your story and feel supported, not judged. You will leave with concrete tools to help you walk through this journey, taking it one day at a time. You will feel affirmed that you are not "crazy" and that what you are experiencing is expected in loss and grief. You will be empowered by the knowledge that healing, rebuilding, and rediscovering who you are now is possible.
