Great to meet you!

I am Dr. JanQueshia Gay, a Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical in Maryland, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, and a board-approved clinical supervisor in both states. I earned my Doctor of Social Work from Morgan State University and my Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I support adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship concerns, and life transitions, with a particular focus on Black women, helping professionals, and leaders.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, conversational, collaborative, and direct. I provide a culturally responsive, trauma-informed space where clients feel supported while also being challenged to recognize patterns, strengthen boundaries, and develop practical coping skills. I especially support clients who are accustomed to being “the strong one” but feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsupported.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, relevant history, and what you hope to gain from the process. Together, we will identify initial goals and begin developing a personalized plan focused on greater self-awareness, healthier coping skills, stronger boundaries, and meaningful change.
