Great to meet you!

Medical Doctor trained in Cuba (2008) with prior experience practicing medicine in my home country. After relocating to the United States, I continued my professional development and became a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and a Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

I am a dedicated, compassionate, and resourceful healthcare professional committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. I enjoy building strong therapeutic relationships with patients and helping individuals achieve better health outcomes. I am fully bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to effectively serve diverse patient populations.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is patient-centered, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe in building strong therapeutic relationships based on trust, respect, and open communication. I take time to listen carefully to each client’s concerns, understand their unique life circumstances, and develop individualized treatment plans that support both mental and overall well-being.

As a Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, I use an evidence-based approach that may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, and supportive therapeutic guidance. I focus on helping clients develop practical coping strategies, improve emotional resilience, and achieve long-term stability and wellness.

I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their concerns. Being fully bilingual in English and Spanish allows me to effectively communicate with and support a broader community of patients.

My goal is to empower clients to actively participate in their care while providing professional guidance, empathy, and the tools needed to improve their quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, respectful, and non-judgmental environment where they feel comfortable sharing their concerns. My goal is to create a safe space where individuals from all types of backgrounds and life experiences feel heard, understood, and supported.

In this initial visit, I take time to learn about the client’s current concerns, mental health history, medical background, lifestyle, and personal goals for treatment. This session usually includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation so we can better understand the factors affecting their emotional and mental well-being.

Together, we begin to identify treatment goals and priorities, which may include improving mood, reducing anxiety, developing healthier coping strategies, enhancing daily functioning, or achieving greater emotional stability. When appropriate, we may also discuss treatment options such as therapy approaches, lifestyle adjustments, and medication management.

My approach is collaborative, meaning clients are actively involved in their care plan. I strive to ensure that every individual leaves the first session with greater clarity about their concerns, a sense of support, and a clear path forward for treatment. Being fully bilingual in English and Spanish also allows me to communicate comfortably with a diverse patient population.
