Great to meet you!

Taking the first step toward mental health care can feel overwhelming, and you deserve a provider who listens without judgment and meets you where you are.

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where every client feels heard, respected, and understood. I provide compassionate mental health care to individuals across the lifespan, supporting children, adolescents, and adults through their unique challenges and stages of life. I approach each person with an open mind, compassion, and respect for their unique experiences, culture, and individual needs. As a Spanish-speaking provider, I am passionate about making mental health care more accessible and helping clients feel comfortable expressing themselves in the language they know best. My practice is grounded in evidence-based medicine, combining proven treatment approaches with personalized care to support your mental health, well-being, and journey toward healing. Above all, I want you to know that you are not alone, your voice matters, and we will work together toward meaningful progress at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach to therapy

Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. As a Spanish-speaking PMHNP, I provide warm, compassionate, nonjudgmental care for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing ADHD, mood disorders, PTSD, anxiety, substance use disorders, and depression.

My holistic, strengths-based approach incorporates evidence-based methods tailored to your needs. CBT helps identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviors; DBT builds emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills; mindfulness encourages present-moment awareness; supportive therapy provides a safe space to process emotions and challenges; and motivational interviewing helps explore ambivalence and strengthen motivation for change. Medication management involves collaboratively reviewing symptoms, discussing treatment options, monitoring effectiveness and side effects, and adjusting treatment when appropriate.

I explain each method and treatment plan during our sessions, maintain consistency in therapeutic approaches, and work collaboratively with you to build trust, strengthen coping skills, and support meaningful, lasting progress toward your goals.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a trusting relationship. Before your appointment, you’ll receive clarification on whether your session will be conducted via secure video or in person, the expected appointment length, and whether the visit will focus on a comprehensive intake assessment or an initial conversation about your concerns and goals.

During our session, I’ll invite you to share your experiences, mental health history, current concerns, and goals at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we’ll explore your symptoms, strengths, and challenges to develop a clearer understanding of your needs.

I’ll explain my approach to care, discuss appropriate treatment options, and answer your questions. Depending on your needs, we may explore CBT, DBT, mindfulness, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, or medication management. I’ll explain how each approach works and collaborate with you to select a treatment plan that aligns with your goals and preferences.

I value consistency in treatment, so we’ll work together to establish a clear plan, identify practical strategies, and determine how we’ll monitor your progress. You can expect compassion, open communication, cultural sensitivity, and care without judgment.

You don’t have to have all the answers before you arrive. Whether we’re completing an initial assessment or beginning with a conversation, we’ll take the first steps together, at your pace.
