Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Jedidiah J. Dykstra, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families to achieve workability and satisfaction. Therapy doesn't have to be an intimidating process. I have been working in the mental health field since 2010 and have been greatly honored to facilitate change in people’s lives. My passion in life is working with people, and as a Marriage and Family Therapist I have received unique training to help individuals, couples, and families improve their relationships and establish a heart at peace.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is collaborative and educational in manner. I will help you gain skills and knowledge to overcome challenges in your life. I will use any tool and any modality, to reach a person, a couple, or a family. Human beings are complex creatures and one size does not fit all.

If we take the time to examine our struggles; all too often they are in relation to a person(s), event, or situation. Being able to examine how that relationship impacts you, can bring forth such healing. I look forward to navigating challenges with you and establishing a heart at peace.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, you can expect a collaborative and supportive exploration, focused on understanding what brought you to therapy. We will explore your current concerns, important background information, and the challenges you are experiencing. Together, we will begin identifying patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior that may be contributing to the problem or keeping you stuck. The goal is not simply to discuss what is wrong, but to understand what is happening and identify practical areas for change.
