Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Jeff and I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families, adolescents and children. I know how difficult it is for people to share personal information with someone they do not really know.

My goal is to always help people feel comfortable and safe as they share their concerns. I try to make sure we work together as a team to design a treatment plan, you feel will best help as we confront your issue(s). I look forward to meeting you. Thank you, Jeff Fulton, LMSW

My approach to therapy

I believe in open communication without professional jargon. I believe the client provides the pace and what makes them most comfortable when we work together. I think some humor in appropriate situations is helpful during therapy.

I work with individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents., I work with clients that have ADHD, women that have been abused or are in abusive relationships, adults and children that have been sexually abused. I work with couples that have difficulty communicating and use P.R.E.P, (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program) as the process to help them. I use Cognitive Behavioral techniques, Mindfulness, ACT, guided imagery, relaxation techniques and provide holistic options before suggesting medication. I work with Veterans, people with PTSD, and First Responders, I work with people that have anger issues. I work with families that have children that struggle behaviorally. I enjoy working with the elderly.

What you can expect from me

First and foremost, I want to help them relax as I know the first session can be scary if someone has never had therapy before. l want to really listen to the new client as they discuss what brought them in for help. I also explain to them that I will always be open and honest and let them know where they can research what I encourage them to try.

I help them understand I am not a mind reader and cannot help them unless they let me know what they are thinking, their fears, and any other thoughts or concern they may have regarding our work together. I feel it is important to describe how we learn about each other in a session, and how we work together to design a treatment plan. I also want to know their circumstances regarding work and family and find out what times and days work best for the them as we work together.
