Great to meet you!

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck. You may have tried to solve the same problems over and over, only to find yourself repeating familiar patterns in your relationships, your thoughts, or your emotions. My goal is to help you understand what's keeping you stuck and develop practical, lasting ways to move forward.

I work with adults and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship conflict, life transitions, and other emotional challenges. Together we'll identify the patterns that have developed over time, build on your strengths, and develop skills that create meaningful change both inside and outside of therapy.

Before becoming a full-time therapist, I spent more than 20 years serving in pastoral ministry. That experience has given me a deep appreciation for people's stories, struggles, and resilience. If faith is an important part of your life, I'm happy to incorporate it into our work together at your request. If it isn't, you'll receive the same respectful, evidence-based care.

Reaching out for therapy is a significant step. Whether you're looking to improve your relationships, better manage anxiety or depression, or simply gain clarity during a difficult season, I'd be honored to work alongside you.

My approach to therapy

I believe that effective therapy is both compassionate and practical. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, identify the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop skills that lead to lasting change. Therapy isn't just about talking through problems—it's about creating meaningful progress in your daily life.

I tailor therapy to each person's unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Restoration Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Depending on your goals, we may focus on understanding relationship patterns, developing healthier ways to respond to difficult thoughts and emotions, improving communication, or building resilience during life's challenges.

I strive to create a safe, respectful, and collaborative environment where you feel heard without judgment. Together, we'll work toward goals that matter to you, at a pace that feels both supportive and productive.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about the challenges you're facing, what you've already tried, and what you hope will be different as a result of therapy. I'll also ask questions about your personal history, relationships, and other areas of your life that may be relevant to your concerns.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you come. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable, and there is no expectation that you'll share more than you're ready to discuss. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and respected.

By the end of our first session, you'll have a better understanding of how I work, and we'll begin developing a plan tailored to your goals. You'll leave with a clearer sense of the direction we'll take together and what to expect in future sessions.
