Great to meet you!

I am Jenel Thomas, an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I bring extensive training and provide therapy as well as medication management to offer comprehensive care to my clients. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University and I am passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults. I possess strong clinical skills enhanced by a natural ability to build rapport with patients and families, following evidence-based guidelines blended with experience, personal observation, and intuition. My role is multifaceted, including educator, mental health advocate, therapist, and medication management specialist. I have more than 25 years of medical experience with a history of diverse roles in numerous care settings, including working as a Trauma ER Nurse. In addition to practical experience, I have a unique ability to connect with individuals, understand them, and provide the empathy that comes with genuine care and compassion. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and a host of other disorders. I offer a variety of schedules to support my clients, including virtual, in-person, and phone consultations and meetings.

My personal passion is to help people overcome the stigma associated with mental health so that everyone understands the need for holistic care, mind, body, and spirit. I am a religious and spiritual person as well, so if you would like to incorporate that in your care, please feel free to let me know, and I can accommodate you in that area.

My approach to therapy

I believe in treating the whole person—not just symptoms—and work collaboratively with you to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your unique needs and goals.

Whether you're seeking medication management or therapy for anxiety, depression, or other conditions, my goal is to help you achieve stability and improved quality of life through compassionate, professional care.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a warm, judgment-free space focused on understanding your unique story, needs, and goals. We’ll complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that includes your mental health history, current symptoms, medications, and any past treatments. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns, strengths, and areas of concern to create an individualized treatment plan.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a better understanding of your diagnosis (if applicable), initial medication or therapy recommendations, and next steps for care. My goal is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and actively involved in your treatment process from day one.
