Great to meet you!

My main goal is to promote healing and personal growth by creating a secure and nurturing environment where you can freely discuss your concerns and explore different solutions. This space is judgment-free, encouraging honest and open conversations. As a lifespan psychologist, I have expertise in working with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, couples, and families, spanning ages from 2 to 65 years. At present, my services are available exclusively through telehealth appointments, allowing you to access professional guidance from the comfort of your own home.

My approach to therapy

My approach is direct, warm, and solution-focused, ensuring that your care is personalized and effective. In sessions, I meet you where you are, understanding your current level of understanding and capability. This method fosters a supportive environment where you feel understood and empowered to actively participate in your healing journey. Together, we identify the “project” we work on, utilizing a variety of therapeutic tools and interventions tailored to your individual needs and preferences. These methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), emotion-focused therapy, and trauma-informed approaches. I maintain consistency with these modalities to ensure the best outcomes. As a lifespan psychologist, I have extensive experience working with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, couples, and families, from ages 2 to 65. I have treated a wide array of issues, from toilet training concerns in children and other parenting issues to helping families navigate discord, using strategies from play therapy to trauma-focused treatments. I explain my methods used in session.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll start by creating a comfortable and welcoming environment to ease any nerves. I’ll begin by asking what inspired you to reach out to me, which is a great way to start a conversation and get to know each other better. You’ll have the opportunity to share a bit about your background and interests, which can help us both feel more connected. From there, we’ll gently transition into a diagnostic assessment. This is a collaborative process where we’ll explore your situation and how you arrived at this point, helping us gain a deeper understanding together. This assessment will be ongoing throughout your treatment, allowing us to refine our approach and decide together how to address your needs effectively. We’ll also identify any contributing factors, their influence, and potential solutions, ensuring we’re on the same page. Once we have a clearer picture of who you are and your needs, I’ll provide an overview of my treatment structure recommendations. This is will also be one of many opportunities for you to ask questions and share your feedback, ensuring that the plan feels right for you. The intake process typically spans the first few sessions of therapy, but we can adjust as needed. Remember, at any point, a shift may be necessary for various clinically appropriate reasons, and you, as the patient, have control over your engagement in therapy, including its direction and pace.
