Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Jenna Aiken. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I work with clients in North Carolina via telehealth. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in Addiction Counseling. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology. My professional work experience includes private counseling practice, emergency department crisis assessment, community mental health, substance abuse treatment, and domestic violence prevention.

I focus my work on supporting mothers during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. I am currently in a certification program to increase my education around postpartum mental wellness. Since becoming a mother myself, I have come to believe that supporting mothers is vital to helping build healthy families, thriving communities, and a better world.

My approach to therapy

First and foremost, I believe in meeting clients where they are and creating a warm, supportive environment in which women feel safe enough to explore the concerns that brought them into therapy. I view client’s through a holistic lens. My goal is to empower clients to work through their concerns in the therapy session while they are building a more supportive lifestyle outside the therapy session.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my main goal is to help client’s feel safe and held. I typically take clients through a thorough assessment to help us identify key areas for exploration. This is done at the client’s own pace and with respect to the client’s comfort level. We will create some initial treatment goals that we can refine and revise as our work progresses.
