Great to meet you!

I’m Jenna, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) practicing virtually in North Carolina and South Carolina. My path to this work has been shaped by my own experience of loss as a child, which eventually led me toward a career built around helping people carry hard things and find their way through them.

I specialize in trauma, complex PTSD (CPTSD), and secondary traumatic stress—the kind of exhaustion that builds up in people whose jobs or lives require them to constantly show up for others. A lot of my clients are therapists, healthcare workers, first responders, caregivers, and ministry leaders. Others are working through trauma that didn’t come from one clear event, but built up over time in ways that can be hard to name.

I use EMDR (trained), along with psychodynamic and person-centered/motivational interviewing approaches, adapting my style to what actually fits each client rather than applying one method across the board. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a clinical director overseeing multiple practice locations, which shaped how I think about care systems and burnout—both for the people I treat and for the helping professionals I specialize in working with.

I see clients via telehealth on Mondays, Tuesdays, and select Saturdays.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational first—I believe healing happens in the context of feeling truly seen and safe, not just through technique. I draw primarily from EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, and person-centered/motivational interviewing, but I don’t force clients into one framework. Some sessions are more structured and skills-based; others are more exploratory, especially when we’re working through trauma that needs to be processed at its own pace.

I move at the speed of trust. That means we won’t dive into the hardest material before you feel steady enough to do so safely. My goal isn’t just symptom relief—it’s helping you understand the “why” behind your patterns so the changes actually last.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting to know you—what’s brought you to therapy now, what you’ve already tried, and what you’re hoping is different on the other side of this work. I’ll ask about your history, but you’re always in control of how much detail you share and when.

By the end of that first conversation, my goal is for you to leave with a sense of whether this feels like the right fit, and a general idea of how we might approach your specific situation together. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out—we’ll build the plan as we go.
