Great to meet you!

As a member of the LGBTQ community, I am passionate about serving my community. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 25 years of experience supporting people who are navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, caregiver stress, LGBTQ+ concerns, relationship challenges, and the emotional impact of medical issues, chronic illness, disability, or recovery.

Sometimes the people who seem the strongest on the outside are carrying the heaviest emotional weight underneath. You may be the person everyone relies on while quietly feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode yourself. Maybe your mind never fully shuts off. Maybe you are trying to hold everything together through stress, trauma, caregiving, relationship struggles, burnout, chronic illness, grief, or changes in your life that no one else fully understands. At some point, constantly “pushing through” stops working.

I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can finally exhale, a space where you do not have to perform, explain away your feelings, or pretend you are okay when you are not. Clients often tell me they appreciate having a therapist who is both compassionate and honest, someone who creates emotional safety while also helping them move forward in meaningful ways.

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You only need a place to begin.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and practical. I believe healing happens when people feel genuinely understood, emotionally safe, and supported in making changes that feel realistic and meaningful in their daily lives.

I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, strengths-based therapy, and trauma-informed care. Together, we work to better understand patterns, regulate emotions, process difficult experiences, strengthen coping skills, and build healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

I understand how deeply emotional wellbeing can be affected when life changes unexpectedly or when your nervous system has been carrying stress for too long. My goal is not to “fix” you, but to help you reconnect with your strengths, develop tools that actually help, and move through life with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you are used to handling things on your own or are unsure where to begin. Your first session is not about having all the right words or telling your entire story perfectly.

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other in a supportive, nonjudgmental space. We will talk about what has been bringing you to therapy, what challenges you are currently facing, and what you hope might feel different in your life moving forward.

You can expect me to listen with compassion, ask thoughtful questions, and help you begin identifying goals and next steps at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Many clients leave the first session feeling relieved to finally have a space where they feel heard, understood, and not alone in what they are carrying.
