Great to meet you!

Life certainly brings us many challenges along the way and my goal as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor is to help you rediscover your joy and learn to choose yourself in navigating life’s demands and obstacles. Through a supportive, compassionate, and trusting relationship and environment, I hope to help you feel empowered to reclaim control and make positive changes in your life. You will learn to express, explore, understand, and accept underlying emotions, thoughts, and behaviors without judgment and with renewed compassion for yourself and others.

I have over 15 years of experience providing individual, family, and couples therapy as well as serving as a Maryland board approved supervisor and a former clinical site director for an outpatient mental health clinic. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, PTSD, trauma, grief and loss, and behavioral and stress related issues. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park and my Master of Arts and Master of Education degrees in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University.

My approach to therapy

In supporting you, I operate from a client-centered and strength-based approach with a genuine regard for you. I further utilize a variety of treatment modalities that tailor to your individual needs, including psychodynamic counsel, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices. I also have training in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR.

What you can expect from me

I offer teletherapy only for residents in the state of Maryland. When you reach out to me by phone or email, I will respond within 24-48 hours. I will explore with you your needs, answer any questions or concerns, and discuss availability. We will schedule a time that works for both of us to meet via a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform. I will also ask that you select the Client Portal link to complete intake paperwork prior to your appointment. During our first meeting, we will review the intake paperwork and therapy process, including consents and policies. I will ask various questions in helping to better understand your presenting concerns and to best support you and your needs. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to heal, reclaim control, and live joyfully.
