Great to meet you!

Jenn R., LMHC-DP Compassionate Counselor | Trauma-Informed Care Specialist | Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional

Jenn is a compassionate, certified trauma specialist who believes the foundation of effective therapy begins with a strong, authentic therapeutic relationship. With a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach, she creates a safe space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered in their healing process.

Jenn works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relational challenges, mood concerns, ADHD, and self-esteem difficulties. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), allowing her to bring specialized training in trauma-informed care and anxiety treatment into her work with clients.

Jenn holds an MS in Counseling from Mercy College and a post-graduate MA in Mental Health Counseling from Upstate New York.

Jenn’s philosophy embraces the ebb and flow of life’s waves and tides, and she considers it a profound honor to walk alongside individuals as they navigate their healing journey, uncover resilience, and cultivate inner peace along the way. Not unlike the powerful nature of the ocean, within everyone is a powerful force of perception.

In her free time, Jenn enjoys spending time in nature with her puppy, traveling, reading, and summer days at the lake with her family.

My approach to therapy

Her therapeutic approach is individualized and holistic, integrating evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed therapy, anxiety-focused strategies, strengths-based work, and mindfulness-based techniques to support each client’s unique needs and goals. Jenn values helping clients build resilience, develop insight, strengthen coping skills, and move toward greater peace and emotional balance.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, clients can expect a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where we begin getting to know one another and building a sense of trust, comfort, and emotional safety. I understand that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so we will move at a pace that feels supportive and manageable.

Together, we will gently explore what brings you to therapy, what has been feeling difficult, and what you hope may feel different over time. We will also begin shaping goals around your hopes for the future and what healing, growth, or relief might look like for you.

When helpful, I may offer simple practices or reflections to try between sessions. These are meant to support skill-building, emotional grounding, and containment in a way that feels realistic and compassionate. We will practice these tools together in session so they feel accessible and useful outside of therapy as well.
