Great to meet you!

Great to meet you. If you are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, anger, grief, family challenges, or major life changes, therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you are carrying, and identify what you are ready to change. I work with adults and seniors, including Veterans and Service Members, who may be navigating the emotional weight of military service, life transitions, chronic conditions, substance use concerns, bipolar disorder, end of life issues, cultural or ethnic stressors, and men's issues. For the past 8 years, I have served Veterans and Service Members through my work with the VA and the Army. My goal is to offer a warm, affirming, and empowering space where you can better understand your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns so you can begin moving toward a more balanced and meaningful life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in helping you understand what drives your thoughts, feelings, and choices. I often use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore what feels important, what may be keeping you stuck, and what changes you feel ready to make. Once we build rapport and identify goals, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you notice unhelpful thought patterns, challenge them, and build healthier ways of responding to stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, family conflict, substance use concerns, grief, chronic conditions, and bipolar disorder. Sessions may include reflection, practical coping skills, emotional awareness, goal setting, and tools you can use outside of therapy. I believe people create change when they feel heard, respected, and supported in taking honest, manageable steps toward improved outcomes.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a warm, affirming, and empowering space where I take time to understand you, your situation, and what matters most to you. In our first session, we may not identify every goal right away, and that is okay. I want to listen carefully, get to know your story, and help identify the areas of focus that feel most important. Over time, therapy can help you feel more grounded, improve emotional balance, strengthen coping skills, better manage stress, communicate more clearly, and approach life with greater confidence. Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, family issues, men's issues, or major transitions, my hope is that you feel supported in creating meaningful and lasting change.
