Hi, my name is Jermai Harrison, LMHC, and I am glad you cam across my page. Here is my bio:
With over a decade of experience working with disadvantaged youth in Residential Programs and seven years in Outpatient Therapy, Jermai is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families redefine brokenness by embracing your “Golden Scars” to navigate the in-between of pain and purpose. Her heart lies in empowering teens and young adults to embrace healing, identity, and growth through faith, mentorship, and community. With everything listed, the goal is to guide people to Live In Purpose, On Purpose; With Purpose! As a Doctoral student (EdD) at Liberty University studying Community Counseling and Traumatology, and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, Jermai blends academic insight, Christian principles, and lived experience to guide others toward transformation giving every person A Fighting Chance to thrive.
For starters, I meet people where they are! I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy and together, we will navigate your journey and discover what’s on the other side of pain. I do this by using therapeutic and evidence-based practices that focus on trauma-informed care as well as overcoming anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and low motivation. I utilize a unique yet very individualized approach to counseling to help discover your life's purpose and then we focus on a way to build a life you can be proud of by developing skillsets, increase self-awareness, and building a tribe that can guide you through your path to destiny!
My life's goal is that whoever encounters me will experience empowerment, joy, laughter, safety, and healing. I carry this into my professional work with that aim of helping individuals, couples, and families to rediscover meaning, value, and purpose. I want to be a guide, a safe space, and a catalyst to growth and healing in everything I do!
