Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Jess! I am a therapist trained in understanding systems: those interlocking factors that make up your mental and physical health, as well as the systems of the family and society. We may work well together if you'd like to understand how to balance your internal systems better, or how to interact differently with the systems outside of you. Respect for your individuality and awareness of systemic oppression is central to my work.

My approach to therapy

I help my clients to honestly face themselves- their strengths, weaknesses, past traumas and future hopes, and build a positive, powerful sense of self. I will help you understand confusing psychological processes and support you in overcoming roadblocks as you set off on a life path that deeply motivates and satisfies you.

As a queer therapist I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients and others who have been impacted by marginalization, including those with chronic mental health conditions.

What you can expect from me

Wherever possible, my goal is to help you resolve the root of the issue and for symptoms to lift naturally as you improve your ability to understand and care for yourself. We will develop management strategies together for those symptoms and conditions which are more chronic, based on what fits with your values and lifestyle. Finally, you will leave understanding how to communicate your experience to others in order to advocate for yourself with significant others and medical providers.
