Great to meet you!

Welcome, I am so glad you are here and have chosen to spend your precious time to engage in therapy. Choosing therapy is a stepping stone to self care, and a step to be celebrated. I began my career working with children and families as a social worker beginning in 2005. I enjoyed working in child welfare for many years and in 2021 decided it was time to use my counseling degree and transitioned to serving the community as a therapist. Through my career I have engaged with families, children and adults, with a variety of emotional health needs.

As a wife and mom I also have lived experience with emotional health needs. In our household we have ADHD, anxiety, depression, and sensory processing disorder. We are a loud, rambunctious, and fun family. We are not perfect. Most importantly we are compassionate and loving with ourselves and others.

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, I focus on increasing self compassion as well as compassion for the important people in our lives. We will also use CBT and DBT skills, motivational interviewing and some fun sessions with art therapy. I want you to feel empowered as well as have the skills to manage your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

What you can expect from me

During your first appointment you will have the opportunity to share your current needs. Some basic background information will be collected, then we will create your plan of care together. It is a collaborative meeting and you are only expected to share what you are comfortable with as well as what you feel is important to meet your to provide effective therapy.
