Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jessica Schafer, a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience working with individuals across the lifespan. I specialize in treating a wide range of mental health concerns—including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, trauma-related issues, and more. In short: I do a little bit of everything, and I’m passionate about helping people feel more grounded, empowered, and genuinely seen.

I combine evidence-based medication management with a warm, down-to-earth approach. Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis, feeling stuck in a cycle you’re ready to break, or just trying to figure out why everything feels a little too much lately—I’m here to help you make sense of it all, without judgment.

My background includes advanced training in psychopharmacology and a decade of experience in both outpatient and community mental health settings. I’m especially skilled at working with clients who have complex or overlapping concerns—think ADHD and anxiety, or mood instability and trauma—because real life rarely fits into neat diagnostic boxes.

You can expect a collaborative, respectful space where your goals matter. I’ll take the time to listen, educate, and tailor a plan that fits you—not the other way around.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct. I believe in treating the whole person—not just symptoms—and I’ll always be honest with you while also meeting you with empathy and curiosity. I take the time to truly understand what’s going on beneath the surface, whether you’re dealing with anxiety, mood swings, burnout, ADHD, or the fallout from difficult relationships or life transitions.

We’ll explore what’s been holding you back and work together on a plan that fits your lifestyle, values, and goals. I specialize in psychopharmacology and have extensive experience navigating complex medication regimens—especially when multiple diagnoses or past treatment challenges are involved. That said, I don’t just write prescriptions. I value education, informed choice, and making sure you feel heard and understood every step of the way.

Whether you’re new to psychiatric care or looking for someone who gets it and isn’t afraid to be real with you, I strive to create a space where you can feel safe, supported, and empowered to move forward.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a safe, judgment-free space where they’re treated as a whole person—not a diagnosis. My sessions are a mix of clinical expertise, real conversation, and collaborative problem-solving. Whether we’re managing medications, unpacking patterns, or figuring out what’s just “life” vs. what needs deeper support, the goal is always the same: to help you feel more in control, more understood, and more like yourself again.

My hope is that you leave each session with clarity, confidence, and practical tools to navigate whatever life throws your way. We’ll work toward outcomes like better emotional regulation, improved focus and motivation, steadier mood, stronger boundaries, and ultimately, a life that feels more sustainable and fulfilling.
