What you can expect from me

What to Expect in the First Session:

Before the first appointment, clients receive questionnaires to complete in advance. Jessie reviews these materials ahead of time so the session can stay focused on the client—not paperwork.

In the session itself, Jessie takes time to get to know the client and understand what brought them to therapy. She begins with a friendly conversation and a whole‐person assessment, which may include questions about health, emotions, relationships, school or work, and daily routines. This helps her understand what’s going well, what feels challenging, and what goals the client wants to focus on.

Jessie’s style is calm, supportive, and down‐to‐earth. Clients are welcome to share at their own pace—there is no pressure to disclose more than they feel ready for. If the client is seeking an ADHD evaluation, Jessie explains the process and begins gathering the information needed. If the client is starting therapy, they work together to begin shaping a plan that fits the client’s needs and priorities.

Jessie also discusses options for coordinating care with doctors, schools, or other support people if the client wants that. The first session is centered on creating a safe, welcoming space, building trust, and ensuring the client feels seen, heard, and supported.
