Jill Epstein

Hi! My name is Jill and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My background is in foster care, working with children, teens, and families who have experienced traumatic life events. I now work with people of all ages on a variety of issues. Being able to ease the fears and myths of therapy helps normalize mental health. I also love working with people who have searched and searched for the right therapist but have just not found "the one". My approach is very down-to-earth and accepting.

My approach is compassion-focused and humanistic. We share in the experience of being human. Practicing with compassion means understanding the feelings of others. It is relating and acknowledging that we are all ultimately in the same boat and are not in it alone. I practice with unconditional positive regard, without judgement, and with the belief that we are worthy of feeling better. I take ideas from many different theories and modalities. No one specific kind of therapy defines my style.

During the first session we talk a little bit about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain out of the experience. I gather background information and history just to get an idea of where you are coming from. I will answer any questions you have about the therapeutic process, my history, and anything else you want to know. My aim is to allay your concerns and provide you with hope for the future.
