Great to meet you!

You may find yourself feeling anxious or on edge, struggling with depression, caught in patterns of unwanted thoughts or behaviors, or having difficulty sleeping because your mind or body does not seem to know how to fully settle. I work with adults experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and sleep difficulties, while also supporting people navigating family and relationship concerns, stress, anger, panic, grief and loss, and other effects of trauma. These concerns can often become connected, particularly when difficult experiences begin affecting your sense of safety, your relationships, your ability to rest, or the way you understand yourself. Therapy can provide a space to make sense of those connections without judgment and at a pace that feels manageable. Together, we can work toward helping you feel safer, more grounded, and more in control of your life

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both what you are experiencing today and the experiences, thoughts, behaviors, and patterns that may be contributing to it. We’ll explore how PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and sleep difficulties may be affecting your emotional wellbeing, relationships, and day-to-day life. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and develop more helpful ways of responding, Exposure and Response Prevention to gradually reduce the power that unwanted thoughts, fears, or compulsive behaviors can have over your life, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to help you process traumatic experiences so they feel less emotionally overwhelming in the present. Trauma Focused CBT can help you understand and work through the effects of trauma while developing healthier coping skills, while Cognitive Behavioral Joint Therapy for PTSD can provide additional support when trauma symptoms are affecting an important relationship. When appropriate, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing can also provide a structured opportunity to process the emotional impact of particularly difficult or distressing events. Our sessions will be collaborative, compassionate, and paced with your needs in mind, balancing deeper processing with practical tools you can use in your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

You do not have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand what has brought you in, what has been most difficult, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will identify goals that feel meaningful and realistic and decide where it makes the most sense to begin. You can expect me to listen with warmth and without judgment while creating a space where you can talk openly about difficult experiences, thoughts, emotions, or relationship concerns. Progress may look like feeling less controlled by anxiety, processing traumatic experiences so they have less influence over your present, breaking free from OCD patterns, feeling more connected when depression makes life feel heavy, or finally being able to rest more peacefully. For couples, progress may also mean feeling more understood, communicating more effectively, and learning how to support one another through difficult experiences. We will continue checking in on your goals and adjust our work as your needs change.
