Great to meet you!

I bring over 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in education and counseling settings, and I am passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges in a supportive, practical way. I work with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem struggles, stress, burnout, family conflict, attachment wounds, emotional overwhelm, and people-pleasing patterns.

My goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable being honest, understood, and supported as they work toward meaningful change. I especially enjoy helping clients strengthen boundaries, build emotional resilience, break unhealthy cycles, and move toward lives that feel more balanced and authentic.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. Clients often tell me that I am approachable, validating, and easy to talk to. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, judgment-free space where people can explore challenges honestly without pressure or perfection.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed approaches, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and personality. I value both insight and action—helping clients better understand themselves while also developing practical tools and coping strategies they can use in everyday life. I believe healing happens through connection, self-compassion, honesty, and feeling truly seen.

What you can expect from me

I know starting therapy can feel intimidating, so my goal in the first session is to help clients feel comfortable, heard, and understood. We’ll spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brings you to therapy, exploring your current concerns, and talking about what you hope to gain from counseling.

I also like to learn about what’s been helpful (or unhelpful) for you in the past, your strengths, supports, and any patterns or stressors that may be affecting your well-being. While the first session is focused on understanding the bigger picture, clients can also expect a supportive, conversational approach and practical ideas or tools when appropriate. Most importantly, I want clients to leave feeling safe, understood, and hopeful about the process.
