Great to meet you!

Seeking mental health care can feel overwhelming, and I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. I'm a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) working with adults and older adults experiencing depression, anxiety, sleep difficulties, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and other mental health concerns. My clinical experience spans assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, and medically complex subacute and ICU step-down settings, including caring for individuals with delirium, cognitive changes, and behavioral concerns. These experiences have shaped my holistic approach to care, recognizing the connection between physical and mental health. I welcome individuals from all backgrounds and emphasize compassionate, collaborative care that considers the whole person, not just a diagnosis, while helping you feel empowered to improve your mental health and overall well-being.

My approach to therapy

I believe effective psychiatric care begins with listening, understanding your concerns, and working together to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs and goals. My approach is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I incorporate strengths-based care and motivational interviewing to help you recognize your strengths, explore your goals, and make meaningful changes at your own pace. During our sessions, we'll discuss your symptoms, daily functioning, and treatment options while considering how your physical health, lifestyle, and personal circumstances affect your mental well-being. I take a thoughtful approach to medication management, emphasizing patient education, carefully considering medication benefits and risks, and tailoring treatment to your individual needs. My goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and actively involved in decisions about your care.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment will be a 60-minute psychiatric evaluation conducted through a secure video visit. I understand that meeting a new mental health provider can feel intimidating, so we'll take things one step at a time, and you're welcome to ask questions throughout our session. We'll discuss your current concerns, symptoms, mental health and medical history, previous treatments, sleep, daily functioning, and personal goals to better understand your needs. You'll have the opportunity to share your experiences at your own pace in a welcoming and supportive space. Toward the end of our appointment, we'll review my initial impressions and discuss treatment options, including medication when clinically appropriate. Together, we'll develop a personalized plan that reflects your needs and preferences, with the goal of helping you leave feeling heard, supported, and confident about your next steps.
