Great to meet you!

It is imperative for me to provide my clients with a warm, safe, and comfortable therapeutic space in which they will be invited to share, explore, and grow. Building a healthy collaborative relationship with my clients provides a foundation for our work together. I not only seek to alleviate symptoms and foster self-understanding, but I also encourage my clients to learn from their symptoms. I have found that increasing one's sense of awareness and balance can be helpful in many situations. At the same time, I do my best to meet clients where they are in their lives and work at their pace. My familiarity with various therapeutic perspectives allows me to choose the approach that is most appropriate for that particular situation. I work with individuals and couples who present with a variety of mental health concerns including stress and anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, and LGBTQ issues.

My approach to therapy

I take an integrative, eclectic therapeutic approach in order to be adaptable and tailor treatment to the needs of my clients in the moment. While I can understand and see the benefit of some of my colleagues choosing to adhere strictly to one therapeutic approach, I believe that if you only have a hammer in your toolbox, every problem looks like a nail and I prefer to have more tools as options for when the need arises.

What you can expect from me

The first few sessions are devoted to gathering a thorough history from the client, gaining an understanding of the presenting problems, and collaboratively developing a plan to help guide our therapeutic work together.
