Great to meet you!

I support older adults and families who are navigating changes in mood, memory, health, independence, caregiving, and family relationships. I believe emotional well-being is closely connected to physical wellness and the social, occupational, and family circumstances that shape daily life.

With more than 40 years of experience in geriatric mental health across inpatient, outpatient, assisted-living, and private-practice settings, I bring a broad understanding of the challenges that can accompany aging and chronic illness. My work may include support for depression, anxiety, PTSD, caregiver stress, adjustment concerns, and memory-related questions, based on each person’s needs.

My approach to therapy

I begin by listening to your understanding of what brings you to therapy and what may be contributing to your stress or distress. I tailor treatment to your goals and may draw from cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, or humanistic approaches. We will discuss the therapy process, identify realistic goals, and build a relationship grounded in respect and collaboration.

What you can expect from me

I ask you to tell me about your psychological and emotional distress and beliefs about the origins of your conditions. Early sessions focus on understanding your needs, determining how I can help, and deciding together whether we are a good fit. If you are ready to explore support, I invite you to schedule an initial appointment through Headway.
