Great to meet you!

I realized I wanted to be a therapist in 2015. I'd taught school since 2001 and I enjoyed my career. I waited four years to begin a Master's degree in clinical mental health. It may sound cliché, but it's never too late to improve your life. It's not always easy and it may not always be fun. However, if you're tired of simply going through a daily routine, feeling stuck, if you want to let go of past trauma, if you want to work though what happened to you, then therapy may be what you're looking for.

My approach to therapy

I am affirming to everyone. I want to create a space for clients to be genuine with me but more importantly, with themselves. My help may come in the form of being challenging, being direct, and when needed, warm and compassionate. I will always be respectful and encourage you to brutally honest with me. I have over two years experience in clinical mental health. I have experience treating trauma and PTSD, substance abuse, and anxiety disorders. I am trained in trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), problematic sexual behavior therapy (PSB-CBT), and I am trained in eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). I am also an Internationally Credentialed Sandtray Therapist. Therapy isn't a one-size-fits-all. I want to meet clients where they're at in their journey. I try to customize your therapy to fit what you need.

What you can expect from me

I want you to feel like you've done some work. Made progress. Explored different emotions and be okay with that. Over time, I want you to see yourself as new and reborn; like a phoenix rising out of the trauma that's held you down for too long.
