Great to meet you!

I have an extensive background in counseling experiences, ranging from adolescents through adulthood. I specialize in grief/loss, spirituality, and trauma.

My educational training has prepared me to better serve my clients. I have an undergraduate degree from East Carolina University. I earned my Master of Divinity with a concentration in counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership from Southeastern University.

My approach to therapy

While I understand the depths of addiction itself, my experience has taught me that the use of substances is often related to deeper emotional issues or untreated mental health struggles, including ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, and Trauma to name a few.

I work with my clients to explore the connections between their substance use and their social and emotional struggles. My methods are based in cognitive behavioral therapies that intend to lead the client to a better understanding of themselves.

What you can expect from me

A client should expect to take away a better understanding of "why" they use. This will include connecting their struggles with addiction with their social, emotional, and spiritual selves.

We are a spiritual being with a soul (our mind, will and emotions) that lives in a body. These three elements are who we are. These are also highly influential in how we respond to the world around us, especially our more intimate relationships.
