Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. My name is Johnthap Obakpolor, PMHNP-BC, and I’m truly grateful you’re here. Seeking support takes courage, and I want you to know you’re not doing this alone.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of experience in the medical field, including 5 years dedicated to psychiatry and mental health. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals navigate some of their most challenging moments, and I approach every patient with compassion, curiosity, and respect.

I provide comprehensive psychiatric care for children (6+), adolescents, adults, and older adults, including:

  • Medication management
  • Psychiatric evaluations
  • Follow-up care and ongoing monitoring
  • Individualized treatment plans
  • Supportive, patient-centered education

At the heart of my practice is a belief that every person deserves to feel seen, understood, and supported.

My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can openly share your story, explore your struggles, and take meaningful steps toward healing and stability.

If you’re ready to begin this journey, I’m honored to walk alongside you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is holistic, patient-centered, and evidence-based. I build trusting therapeutic relationships and collaborate with patients to create individualized treatment plans. I use trauma-informed, culturally sensitive practices and support wellness through medication, and psychotherapy when appropriate.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard and understood. During the first session, I will complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, including symptoms, medical and family history, and current concerns. We will discuss goals for treatment and explore what has or hasn’t worked in the past. I will answer questions, explain treatment options, and begin creating a personalized plan together. My priority is building trust and ensuring clients leave with clarity, support, and hope moving forward.
