Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jon, a clinical mental health counselor who works with individuals and couples. I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have several years of experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, shame, and major life transitions.

I’m especially passionate about helping people improve emotional regulation, strengthen communication, and break patterns that keep them stuck. Many clients come to therapy feeling discouraged or unsure where to begin — and my goal is to provide a safe, structured space where you can feel understood while also making meaningful progress.

I use practical, evidence-based approaches (including CBT) to help clients build skills they can use in everyday life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, structured, and practical. I work collaboratively with clients to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, identify patterns that keep them stuck, and build skills that support real change.

I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other tools focused on emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, and healthier relationship patterns. I often work with concerns such as anxiety, depression, shame, relationship stress, life transitions, and unwanted or compulsive behaviors.

I believe therapy should feel safe and supportive — but also purposeful. My goal is to help you feel understood while also making steady progress.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and not judged. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’ve been struggling with, and what you’d like to be different.

You don’t need to have everything figured out or know the “right” words — we’ll go at a pace that feels manageable. I’ll ask questions to get a clear picture of your situation, your goals, and what has (or hasn’t) helped in the past.

By the end of the session, you can expect to leave with a clearer sense of direction and a plan for what we’ll focus on moving forward.
