Great to meet you!
I was raised in Los Angeles and left home at 18 to enlist in the Army, where I served for eight years. After my military service, I became a law enforcement officer. In both careers, however, I discovered that my deepest sense of purpose came not from enforcing rules or maintaining order, but from helping people through difficult moments in their lives, so I pursued my graduate education in clinical mental health services. That realization led me to pursue a career in psychotherapy over 50 years ago, and it remains the best decision I have ever made.
I also enthusiastically pursue continuing to learn in both scientific and applied developments in the field so that I am at the forefront of current knowledge and practice.
I have traveled and lived throughout many parts of the world, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Japan, and Central and South America. Those experiences deepened my appreciation for different cultures, perspectives, and ways of life, and I genuinely enjoy meeting and learning from people of diverse backgrounds.
I bring decades of professional and life experience to my work as a therapist. I strive to create a compassionate, respectful, and collaborative environment where clients feel genuinely heard and understood. I work with adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship difficulties, stress, grief, and questions of meaning and identity.
My approach is thoughtful and individualized, grounded in the belief that healing and growth happen through trust, self-understanding, and authentic human connection. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they work toward greater clarity, resilience, and emotional well-being.
