I am a dual board certified Psychiatric and Acute Care Nurse practitioner, retired from a 24 year career in the US Army Reserves. I specialize in the treatment of mood disorders: depression, anxiety, trauma and stressor related disorders, and addictions.
My approach is direct and nonjudgmental. I emphasize the importance of personal perspective and accountability when dealing with mental health issues. NOTE: I do not initiate stimulants or increase stimulant doses. I also do not initiate benzodiazepines. I will accept clients already on benzodiazepines but require weaning under my care.
The initial session will include a comprehensive history, a discussion of personal goals and different treatment modalities.
