Great to meet you!

I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC in Virginia and Wisconsin, LPCC in Minnesota) who specializes in relationship therapy for individuals and couples. I've worked in multi-site group practice and later owned and led my own group practice before moving to a fully telehealth practice. I work with couples who feel disconnected or stuck in the same fight, and with individuals who want to understand their patterns in relationships, whether with a partner, family, or themselves. I see adults by telehealth in Virginia, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. I earned my MA in Counseling from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN.

My approach to therapy

My work is rooted in attachment. I draw on Diane Poole Heller's secure attachment skills, which focus on practical ways to build connection: listening deeply, being present, attuning to each other, and repairing after conflict. We slow things down so you can see what's really happening between you, notice what your body does under stress, and practice new ways of responding in session and at home. I'm direct and warm, and I give you something concrete to try between sessions. If faith is important to you, I'm glad to bring it into our work. If it isn't, that's completely fine too.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is mostly about getting to know you. I'll ask what brought you in, what's been hard lately, and what you'd like to be different. For couples, I'll hear from each of you so you both feel understood. We'll talk about your history together and the patterns that keep showing up. By the end, you'll have a clearer picture of what's going on and a starting plan for our work, often with one small thing to try that week. You're welcome to ask me anything about how I work.
