I am Joseph Baker, a licensed clinical social worker. My experiential training is in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, client centered therapy, family and couple's therapy. My assessments and evaluations are comprehensive bio-psychosocial in nature. My goal is to establish a connection, whereby both the client and I will partner, addressing those aspects of life which present formidable obstacles, and/or repress growth.

My approach to therapy

I work with the end in mind to be able to make progress through the treatment process. I respect the client’s perspective regarding treatment and perceive treatment to be person centered and respect the confidentiality, autonomy and independence of the client. My role as therapist is to guide the process of treatment and acknowledging the client’s rights in the process.

Improved quality of functioning. Therapist who is genuinely concerned with client’s wellbeing and respect client’s autonomy and independence in deciding the course of treatment. My role is to guide the client through this process. I bring an extensive history of experiential training in multiple treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, client centered therapy, and family and couple's therapy.
