I use cognitive-behavioral therapy to help identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that negatively impact your life and collaboratively come up with a Tx plan to reach your goals. I may incorporate mindfulness/meditation exercises. Similarly, I use Cognitive Processing Therapy to identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs related to a traumatic life event, ultimately leading to a more balanced and realistic perspective and reduced PTSD symptoms. Alternatively, I may use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which uses eye movements to change the emotional response to a traumatic event by replacing negative images and thoughts with positive ones so that memories and/or environmental triggers no longer have the negative emotional response. For couples therapy, I may utilize the Gottman Method and/or Integrative Couples Behavior Therapy to strengthen relationships by focusing on building a culture of admiration, turning towards each other for emotional connection, accepting influence, and managing resolvable and perpetual conflicts to improve communication, increase intimacy, respect and foster empathy and understanding. My experience using Applied Behavior Analysis and behavior management strategies to help with parenting needs to increase a child’s behavioral and/or self-esteem. I use Motivational Interviewing for addictions and/or maladaptive lifestyles to motivate movement toward realistic goals you want to see.
