Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Joshua, a licensed therapist (LICSW, LCSW) working with adults, young adults, and seniors through virtual sessions. I work at a medical clinic in Washington, DC, where I've had the chance to support people from all kinds of backgrounds and walks of life. I specialize in anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship challenges, and trauma. My path into this work came from trusting that sitting with people and asking the questions that matter most to them can genuinely change lives.

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative, here-and-now approach rather than the old "what's wrong with you, how do I fix you?" model of therapy. Together, we'll explore who you are, what actually matters to you, and what's getting in the way of the life you want. I draw on Internal Family Systems, Existential Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and DBT, adapting to what fits you best. My goal is to help you feel grounded, understood, and back in the driver's seat of your own life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, expect a warm, low-pressure conversation where I get to know you and what brought you to therapy. We'll talk through what's been on your mind, what you're hoping to get out of our work together, and start building a shared picture of your goals. You won't need to have it all figured out and we'll work through it side by side. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, and with a clearer sense of what our work together could look like.
